Reader for sometime now and a few times poster.
First of all, I'd like to congratulate this list and the readers/signers, we have a workgroup. I'm not a developer, just a sys/net admin, but there are conversation here. The qmail list is a kind of "jungle". :)
The question: "Is it possible to use LDAP without a LDAP Server?" or, in the other words, is it possible to use a vpopmail server?
I friend of mine is trying to apply lots of patches in qmail and he is getting crazy. We talk about and I said about how wasy and simple qmail-ldap is, his problem is: there isn't a ldap server. :)
Another question and suggestion, is it possible to continue the good job of qmail-ldap and develop a kind of patch-o-matic? I can help on shell script and docs! I give this suggestion on qmail list but it is kind of complicated there.
Maybe it runs out of the scope, maybe we can start a new project, anyway, qmail-ldap list looks more receptive to new ideas than qmail list! :)
