about -DDATA_COMPRESS

Hi all   If I enable the -DDATA_COMPRESS compile option to enable SMTP DATA compression on the fly, would the remote server be able to uncompress it? How does the remote server know it have to uncompress the DATA before delivering it to the user's maildir?   Thanks, bruno.
