I have implement PDC samba with ldap. all users can
login under the linux domain. i want to configure
vpopmail with ldap so that it will be single
authentication. i added two-three more attribute in
ldap (i.e. one is "emaila") . I want qmail to read
email address and password from ldap server. this same
password field should be used for samba users.
my /var/log/qmail/supervise/qmail-pop3d/run is
------------------------------------------------------
#!/bin/sh
exec /usr/local/bin/softlimit -m 40000000 \
/usr/local/bin/tcpserver -v -R -H -l 0 0 110
/var/qmail/bin/qmail-popup \
FQDN /bin/checkpassword /var/qmail/bin/qmail-pop3d
Maildir 2>&1
------------------------------------------------------
# id jim
uid=1001(jim) gid=513(Domain Users) groups=513(Domain
Users)
where "jim" is a samba user. there is not entry for
jim in /etc/passwd.
Aslo "jim" can login into the system by using ssh or
other port.
i want qmail to check user identifications from
/etc/passwd first if user is not there then it should
check ldap (i modified /etc/nsswitch.conf) server. but
this checkpassword is not working like that. Only real
(/etc/passwd users) are able to to authenticate but
not ldap.
for authentication i am using "telnet mailserver 110")
can anyone tell me how can i solve my problem.
thanks in advance.
