Hey,

Today I got some strange error message in qmail-send log:

@40000000413e4445231043d4 warning: internal error: delivery report out of range

I have never seen this error before, so I'm not sure what does it mean?

From qmail-log.5:
internal error: delivery report out of range
              qmail-lspawn or qmail-rspawn has supplied a report
on a nonexistent delivery. This is a serious bug.

I read that part, got only more confused :)

Normaly that should not happen but it could be a problem with the HUP
handler. What version of qmail-ldap are you running?

On this particular system it was 20040401, running on single-cpu x86 system, RedHat WS 3.0. Do you need to know versions of some libraries and stuff, to find out what the problem is?

This error occured short time after I changed "ldapserver" configuration file to include second (redundant) LDAP server information. Actually I also noticed something in qmail behaviour - when primary LDAP server goes down, it seems that it takes quite some time for qmail to "notice" that primary is down and establish connection to secondary. Is this normal?

Additional LDAP servers is a feature of the OpenLDAP library that
qmail-ldap uses. I have no clue how OpenLDAP handles that internally.
Probably you should ask on the OpenLDAP mailinglist.

Gotcha, will do.

Thanks!
