Hi Andre, We are not a large company (jet ;) ). But have a cluster implemented with 3 on net locations, Berlin(de), Dsseldorf(de) and Amsterdam(nl). All behind a firewall We are using smtp,smpt2,pop3,pop3s,imap and imaps. Ofcourse we also use qmtpd as forwarding service. Also smtp-,pop3- and imap session forwarding works in our configuration. File synchronization is not working yet because we are thinking on a life synchronization.
We host more or less a 100 E-mail addresses. Next to Consultancy with FEAS we are starting up a hosting company in the coming months, the website exists: www.serverarea.com. The reason why we have chosen for qmail-ldap is for the following reason: - Stable Platform - Continues Development - Quick reaction on major bugs/problems - Because of the opensource it is possible to bug fix your self when time is not on your side, if the normal quick reaction on major bugs/problems is not fast enough. You get a lot of support through the mailing list while debugging and the bugs fixes, if of good quality, are implemented in the releases. -ldap as storage for account and configuration data. - And offcourse it is distributed under a kind of own public license and thus is free of charge. Because of this and our vision on how to use and maintain "opensource commercial license free software" in the future we have chosen for qmail-ldap. In short we think that qmail-ldap gives us the stability and flexibility to grow to a large company. I hope that, despite the small setup of 100 accounts, also can help you. Otherwise see this mail of a token of appreciation of the effort you you both put into qmail-ldap. Regards, Didier M.J.C.
