No you have not enough indices.

or what I currenlty have
index           objectclass                             eq
index           uid                                     eq,sub
index           cn,sn,mail,mailAlternateAddress         pres,eq,approx,sub

mailAlternateAddress is missing and so mail lookups are slow.
