not for pop3. I got it working by fiddling with stuff for a long time yesterday. qmqp took a bit to get working right. at first I had qmqp on the cluster without compression which didn't work and issued on error 28416 or something (written down on a pad at work no accessable here obviously!) had to hook up recordio to log what was happening before I realized it wasn't sending ascii. It's all working now, I have to go back and redocument each step now so I can build scripts to blast installs onto other machines. thanks. brian > > --Milind > > >>> "Milind Talekar" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> 03/26/05 1:00 PM >>> > Hi > I think the controls/ldapclusterhosts has to be defined in the > controls directory as to for which mailhost the clusterserver is > responsible for , The simplest way is to have the same entry as in the > controls/me file > > > > Thanks & Regards > > Milind > ------------------------------------------------------------- > Technical Consultant - Linux Practice Group > Novell > 62 MIDC, 13th Street > Andheri (East) > Mumbai 400093 > India > Phone: +91(22) 2834-2244 > Fax: +91(22) 2834-2223 > Cell: +91 98201-88510 > Email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Web: http://www.novell.com > --------------------------------------------------------------- > > > --- > Attitude Is Everything ! > >>> <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> 03/25/05 2:21 AM >>> > > hello, > I'm trying to understand the configuration and operation of pop3 in a > cluster. > > I have echoed 1> in ldapcluster, have mailHost defined as a different > machine for this user but when I log into pop3 it still goes to the > local > machine instead of the machine I want. > > I see a line in the lwql page about: > "(important: they must listen on the ip address defined by me!)" > > Which machine? the target (pop3) machine does have it's fqdn in 'me'. > > Does the target if it's only doing pop need to be running qmail-ldap? > > Is there any "PIC" to explain the exact steps in a clustered/forwarding > set up for pop and imap anywhere? > > Thank you, > brian > -- > Never be afraid to tell the world who you are. > -- Anonymous > 14:35:01 up 4 days, 12:07, 5 users, load average: 0.24, 0.13, 0.04 > > > brian > -- > Never be afraid to tell the world who you are. > -- Anonymous > 15:50:01 up 4 days, 13:22, 5 users, load average: 0.23, 0.08, 0.06 > > > brian -- Never be afraid to tell the world who you are. -- Anonymous 06:55:01 up 6 days, 4:27, 5 users, load average: 0.06, 0.08, 0.14
