Sorry, but it doesn't really make sense. If an object has a mail or mailAlternateAddress delivery will happen as specified in the object, that means a lot of options: * delivery thru program * forward * local delivery * combination of the previous options The locals and the rcpthosts have subtle differences on different binaries of qmail-ldap suite, things like RCPTCHECK only happens for domains listed in locals. > This is part of a project to migrate mail accounts in phases to a > new server (qmai-ldap), Current email address will be retained. > The intention is: > > 1. Before your mail exchanger plays a role in this story, your DNS records have to be accurate. It is not clear to me how you configured your DNS servers. If you have SRV1 dealing with all email for pb.xxx.com and SRV2 dealing with all email for pb2.xxx.com, email will be forwarded according to your settings. It would be great if your email is not looping at this point. At this stage, you need to stop trying to explain what you have tried and show us your configurations: * DNS records (MX and A) for both domains regarding the affected servers * Config files: me, locals, rcpthosts. It would be great if you could send the output of qmail-showctl * An LDAP object sample from your database. > I would like to eliminate the depency of having to send out emails > from the new qmail-ldap server that is intended for itself. Sorry, as I said, it isn't clear to me how is your setup even working right now, that's why I asked more information, to understand what's going on and then try to remove the above mentioned dependency.
