I have
gone over this thing every which way I can, it don;t work. I have totally
flattened qmail and rebuilt with all rpms. Then qmail wouldn't work. I flattened
qmail again, and followed the web page on life with qmail ( which is how it was
originally done). Qmail works again, send/receive no problem. I am gathering
that the scanner should work at the ./contrib/test_installation.sh point and
that is where I notice the failure. I run the test and 2 viri laden emails and a
clean one show up in my inbox.
I
noticed that on the RPMS that the dirs in the /service dir were shortened to
names without "qmail-" ie qmail-smtpd to just smtpd. As well as noticing some
other different paths from that web page. The only path difference between my
files ad the LWQ page is my src dir which is /usr/src instead of usr/local/src.
Is
anybody else out there running redhat 7.2 that only used the LWQ web page and
the install directions from sourceforge to get a working qmail scanner. If there
is, please contact me offline. I cut and pasted every qmail instruction/run/rc
etc, minus the ones where you fill in your init.d and rc.d dirs. So I am fairly
confident I have a correctly configured qmail program and it works.
Also I
have apache, mysql, and PHP installed on the same server. That is just the major
stuff, there is other little nitnoid stuff on it. Is anybody aware of anything
that could possibly be installed a box that would break the scanner
but not qmail?
Best I
can tell, I don't even think the scanner is getting a chance to do the job
because I don't think it is ever getting called.
My
scanner log is pasted. I would appreciate more experienced eyes taking a look at
it.
Thanks
Doug
