Hi Guys, I installed Qmail 1.03, Qmail-scanner 1.15 and SpamAssassin 2.43 things almost work 100%. There is one thing of concern that bothers me.
When I run the test_installation.sh, I always get the first 3 test emails. But of the 20 times I've run this script, I've only gotten 4 of the anti-spam tests. When I look in the /var/spool/qmailscan/qmail-queue.log file, I can see that spamassassin tagged the 4th anti-spam test email correct, as shown below: 07/01/2003 13:47:58:3394: SA: run /usr/bin/spamc -c -f < /var/spool/qmailscan/working/new/testmail.college.ucla.edu10419760784243394 07/01/2003 13:47:58:3394: SA: yup, this smells like SPAM 07/01/2003 13:47:58:3394: spamassassin: finished scan of dir "/var/spool/qmailscan/testmail.college.ucla.edu10419760784243394" in 0.097517 secs 07/01/2003 13:47:58:3394: scanloop: finished scan of "/var/spool/qmailscan/testmail.college.ucla.edu10419760784243394"... 07/01/2003 13:47:58:3394: ini_sc: scanning message took 0.10069 seconds 07/01/2003 13:47:58:3394: q_r: fork off child into /var/qmail/bin/qmail-queue... 07/01/2003 13:47:58:3394: cleanup: /bin/rm -rf /var/spool/qmailscan/testmail.college.ucla.edu10419760784243394/ /var/spool/qmailscan/working/new/testmail.college.ucla.edu10419760784243394 07/01/2003 13:47:58:3394: all finished. Total of 0.131153 secs Root's email (which test_installation.sh emails to) gets forwarded to my Exchange 5.5 server that has Norton AntiVirus installed. Has anyone had this problem where they would intermittently recieve the 4th anti-spam email test? Is this indicative of a bigger problem? I appreciate any help or insight into my problem. THank you much.
