This is just a heads up with regard to Sophos sweep. Sophos have changed the "User interface version:" recently from 2.05.033 to 2.05.034 After a lot of extensive testing on FreeBSD 4.7-RELEASE-p10, FreeBSD 4.8-RELEASE and FreeBSD 5.1-RELEASE it would appear that sweep with the new user interface revision and qmail-scanner 1.16 just don't get on. Currently the only way I am able to use this new revision from Sophos is via sophie. Any attempt to use the new sweep and qmail-scanner 1.16 without loading the virus patterns via sophie results in a crash and burn and these errors in the qmail-queue.log: tempfail: X-Qmail-Scanner-1.16: corrupt or unknown Sophos scanner error or memory/resource/perms problem - exit status 32 I have absolutely no problems with the older revision 2.05.33 on any of these FreeBSD versions. Though I don't really have any problems with using sophie and it is the more sensible option, I would like to have the second option of using sweep directly if I choose to do so... If someone does know a fix please can you let me know. Advice to increase my softlimit will be silently ignored. I have jumped through that hoop already in my testing.
