the stderr redirection??? Does the out of mem crash prohibit this maybe?
Yes it is. Can you tell me what you did to capture the seg fault? I don't use clamav so have to rely on others to sort this out...
In qmail-scanner-queue.pl I copied then commented out the original clamscan
line ($DD="$clamscan_binary ...) and in the remaining active one I put:
$DD="/usr/local/bin/clamav.sh ...
(/usr/local/bin/clamav.sh in place of $clamscan_binary)
In /usr/local/bin/clamav.sh I put something like:
:
echo -e "UID is: "`id -a`
/usr/local/bin/clamscan $*
echo -e "Status: "$?
Somehow the seg fault became the output of clamav.sh I guess?
This wasn't expected to make it perform useful work, only to allow me to see
what was going on, which it did. lol
Is there a reason not to use ClamAV? I have used it for quite a while and
have been very well pleased with it on some pretty busy servers.
Thanks for great software and a helpful, friendly mailing list.
