Ah. Yes. I forget sometimes that other people don't patch their vpopmail
code for simple things like this. I can see how this would be a major problem
for users with a binary package of vpopmail (RPM, .deb, port, whatever).

Yeah. Even employees can get viruses though. And with the massive influx of
laptops in the workplace the threat becomes worse- bypassing firewalls, etc...

You know, I've been thinking a lot about this lately (I had to debug a problem
with my tcp rules today), and I think it might be helpful to define an additional
vpopmail configuration file (could be converted into a DBM or CDB database
for quick real-time lookups) for pop-before-smtp environment variables.
Something like this:

var=value
var2=value2
etc...

After all, nobody wants to recompile vpopmail AND everything downstream of
vpopmail each time you change the pop-before-smtp environment vars...

Anyway, I can see why the FAQ entry is in there now. I DON'T think it should be
stated the way it is, but I see the need for SOMETHING documenting the issue.
