So the only thing you did was install a 2.6 kernel and reboot?

If so, what happens if you reboot under 2.4 again? Does the problem go
away? If so, you need to tell the Sophie author. 

This isn't a Q-S problem, you say yourself that sophie is reporting
everything as viral...
