Hi
This sounds very similar to the problem reported by Chris Hine on 2003-09-02, subject "MIME boundary problem with 1.20rc2"...
I have a few times encoutered problems with sending emails from Eudora on Mac that contain attachments. I use Eudora all the time and it's only just happened to me for the first time, although I have had another user report a similar issue.
I have an email I can not send via my mail server (FreeBSD, qmail, qmail-scanner 1.21), it reports the problem "Disallowed MIME boundary found in attachment - potential virus".
I have tried sending it several times using Eudora's Send Again feature, but it is bounced every time.
I have tried sending the same email as composed by our webmail (Horde IMP) and it gets through fine, so the six or so attachments are not causing the problem themselves.
Perhaps Eudora is using a strange character in the boundary, or in the line separators in the headers, or something... The relevant headers of the message I was trying to send are:
Mime-Version: 1.0
Date: Tue, 25 May 2004 10:15:57 +1000
Content-Type: multipart/mixed; boundary="============_-1126678332==_============"
is the minus sign (aka hyphin) allowed in the boundary string?
Should I post the individual separators in the raw source of the email showing the boundary in place?
Thankyou
Jesse
