i'm assured that qscand owns all of the files in /var/spool/qmailscan are
owned by qscand; qscand also owns /vaq/qmail/bin/qmail-scanner-queue.pl w/
perms -rwsr-xr-x.

i have turned debugging on by default, and all logs are running fine.

i've tried upping the softlimit in /var/qmail/supervise/qmail-smtpd/run from
2000000 to 9000000.

I still got this message when i tried to send email:

An unknown error has occurred. Subject 'Fw: test message', Account:
'192.168.157.14', Server: '192.168.157.14', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response:
'451 qq temporary problem (#4.3.0)', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server
Error: 451, Error Number: 0x800CCC6A

i checked the qmail-queue.log and i got this:

27/05/2004 14:57:18:19080: error_condition: X-Qmail-Scanner-1.21st:
clamscan: corrupt or unknown ClamAV scanner error or memory/resource/perms

Thu, 27 May 2004 14:57:19 +0800:19080: --- all finished. Total of 0.366113

i'm going to go through my clamAV install, w/c is from debian's apt-get,
btw.

The one I keep noticing is that the /var/spool/qmailscan/tmp directory
keeps being created with the ownership of 'root:root' - because that's
who is doing the base tests and such. Once that's chowned to qscand, it
works properly.

hi guys,

i'm kind of stuck in my q-s installation on my debian box; i'm also
using clamav and spamassassin. see, i've located the tcpserver control
file (/etc/tcp.smtp.cdb). i tried configuring the file /etc/tcp.smtp
based on the sample from the documentation. i ran qmailctl cdb and
then restart for the changes to take effect. however, when i tried to
send mail, i got an error like this:

The mail server responded: qq temporary problem (#4.3.0)

i've verified that it's no suid/perl issue; i've also ran the
test_installation.sh script. both worked fine. i've looked into the
logs, but i can't seem to find any hint what's causing this prob.
