Hi to all!
For a couple of days someone is sending "empty" Mails to my customers. I've got ClamAV and Spamassissin running, so i don't think it's a worm or spam.
How can i prevent qmail from delivering empty mails, without any subject or adresses? Or is it even a configuration problem in my system?
The problem is that this empty mails are blocking some clients like some versions of M$ Outlook Express/ Exchange.
I have the same problem and have no solution. Does anyone know what to do in this case ?
Example of one of these mails:
Return-Path: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
Delivered-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Received: (qmail 20537 invoked from network); 3 Jun 2004 14:24:45 -0000
Received: from unknown (HELO XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX) (68.255.251.116)
by hostname.removed.com with SMTP; 3 Jun 2004 14:24:45 -0000
Received: from 100.136.13.228 by 68.255.251.116; Thu, 03 Jun 2004 14:19:02 -0100
Message-ID: <E[20
---- Thats all. I can: - receive this mail with the MacOSX included Mail-Program - receive this mail using telnet to port 110 of the server - receive this mail using some perl based Web-Mail software
I cant:
- receive this mail with outlook 2000
- receive this mail with outlook express 6
( and consequently all other mails in the mailbox will not be downloaded to the client )
Is such a mail valid ? From my view, it might be the problem, the "Message-ID" is incomplete. Should qmail ( version 1.03 ), really deliver such a fragment into the userser Mailbox ? I am new to qmail, I have a long experience using sendmail and never saw something like this.
Thank you for you Ideas. Phil
