Thanks so much for your response. It is good to see that I'm not the
only person in the world trying to use qmail.
The version of perl you are using, 5.8.8, was released in 2006 and is the
last version to have setuid support. The current version of perl is
5.18.1.
In order to get qmail-scanner to work with the current version of perl,
using sudo instead of perl-setuid, you have to follow the comments of
Antarctica here: http://qmailrocks.thibs.com/qmail-scanner.php
