Of course, it is entirely possible that overtime qmail will pervail
(now that postfix got fatally wounded by a Magnum 821), it becomes
clear that it is not possible to securely look up the uids from a
file, and RH will end up shipping qmail anyways---modifying rpm
perhaps. Afterall, they started shipping netscape way before
netscape disclosed its source---in clear violation of their pristine
source policy.

Market demand does make a difference for RH: they would not ship
xforms (hence xfmail) but did ship netscape.

It is a much more interesting question, though, what will GNU ship?
You cannot expect compromises based on market demands, so the
alternative might end up a qmail based gmail.
