To send mail to fred.davies@virtual-host you have to replace the "."
by ":".
If you have an existing
.qmail-fred
and this is the same user as "fred.davies" and "fred_davies" a
$ ln .qmail-fred .qmail-fred:davies
$ ln .qmail-fred .qmail-fred_davies
is probably the best.
