$ to doughnuts foo1.bar.com has something like:

foo1.bar.com IN CNAME foo.bar.com.
                IN A 10.10.10.10

which isn't allowed. qmail will problalbly follow the CNAME to
foo.bar.com which then doesn't have an A record?
