That the compiler is called gcc is a standard Solaris setup? Now I don't understand. None of the Solaris machines I have access to come installed with gcc as standard. Now, if I hack around and install non-standard stuff, I may end up with a gcc and maybe even a link to that from cc, but as I said, I'd call that non-standard and wouldn't expect an independent software bundle to know that that's what I'd been doing to my system.
