Right.  inetd think that your normal system load is caused by a client 
which is stuck in an open/close loop.  There's a parameter you can set 
in the inetd.conf file (sometimes), but it's better just to switch to
Dan's tcpserver.

Try kill -HUP `pid of inetd`
