Hello,

I'm searching for a patch which lets qmail to accept mails with characters
>126 ( e.g. german umlauts ) in the mail headers. I searched all archives
but it seems no one didn't ask for this up to now.

I know in theory these characters musn't appear in EMail headers but some
customers use brain dead mail clients that don't encode the mail headers
correctly. To make it worse most mail servers accept mails with Umlauts
in headers and without a correct MIME encoding :-(

So some mails get bounced back to the customer and they ask us why our
mail system doesn't work. I can't change their mail client settings and
I'm tired of explaining them what went wrong and that conformant to the
RFCs these characters musn't appear in headers.

Well, sendmail accepts these mails and doesn't reject it ( which doesn't
mean anything :-) ).

I had a quick look at the qmail source in token822.c but I didn't see an
obvious way to do this, it would be great if someone of you may have a
solution for this.

Regards
Juergen
