Well, I was just being... you know, myself.
The point is, to get QMAIL installed, yes, the INSTALL seems to work
- -- but does it work without gotchas for a *reinstall*? as was the
question?
But, alas, since I wanted to use "qmail" ... I've run across things
like ucstspi or something (very hard name to remember), tcp-env which
was taken over by utpspyscsi (whatever and this wasn't documented),
rblsmtpd, daemonstools, yadda yadda.
Installing qmail is actually quite easy.. the first time.. if you
follow the documentation and all you need is qmail. Beyond that, it's a
maze of non-cross referenced programs and documentation.
There was some good/considerable work done on a QMAIL HOWTO -- but is
also assumes what parts of qmail you want to install, etc.
Anyway, enough bitching. It has been beaten well on this list before
that if I want to help, I should produce documentation myself. I answer
that with ``fine, I will. Now you will have documentation written by a
qmail novice who is confused by qmail -- but so be it.''
