Heya there :)

I've been trying to find a good way to manage my qmail server for a while now, but can't figure it out yet. Maybe you guys can help me :)

Here's the set up. We currently got an NT mail server here (running IMAIL (huh)). We got about 3000 users on our domain + about 100 other virtual domains. I'm in the process to migrate that NT server to qmail (under rh 5.2, memphis qmail RPM). We're a small ISP, we sells dedicated isdns, dialups etc.

The problem is that 90% of the virtual domains users don't use the "[EMAIL PROTECTED]" extension when login in. They use a "normal" login (ie: "user"). The other 10% of the users actually uses the extension and log in as "user$vdomain.com".

So I gotta find a manageable way to set up all this. I've installed vchkpw (nice piece of software btw) and it works just fine for the users that use the extension. But won't work for the others. As you can see, I've got 2 types of authentification... I could manage the extensions users with vchkpw but what for the others? Problem is that I can't really uniform this... some virtual domains have more than 100 pop users.

I could set up all my virtual domains with vchkpw and duplicate the users accounts that don't use the extension (make 'em a "real account", with /etc/passwd etc) and forward their mail from their virtual pop3 account to their "real account". But when they would reply to their messages they won't have the right domain name... And the virtual domains users would get mixed with my domain users :( That would be very heavy to manage...

Well, if you got suggestions on how I could set this up... don't hesitate :)
