If all you want is to deliver mail to a maildir, you can
use procmail to do this. Use the procmail maildir patch from
http://www.vsource.com/~bguenter/distrib/procmail-maildir/ (or from
other places, this is the first one I found).
Debian's procmail package is already patched.
