I guess you meant /var/qmail/queue/lock/trigger. Look how the lock directory was: -rw------- 1 qmails qmail 0 jun 8 14:46 sendmutex -rw-r--r-- 1 qmailr qmail 1024 jun 29 13:33 tcpto prw------- 1 qmails qmail 0 jun 8 14:42 trigger I changed trigger to 622.
