I checked my checkpassword, I did : /var/qmail/bin/qmail/qmail-popup host /bin/checkpassword pwd +OK <....@host> user aescobar +OK pass mypassword here I got the home directory of my account.   I simulated a successfull POP login again, with id instead of pwd. I got the uid and gid of my account.   I think checkpassword is working properly. Any suggestion.
