If you are trying to achieve virtual domain hosting for mail (which is
what you want), you should NOT have the domain in the _locals_-file, not
in the plusdomain either. It should only be placed in virtualdomains and
rcpthosts.
Do like this:
1. Place this line into virtualdomains:
kfctristate.com:alias-kfctristate
and
kfctristate.com
into rcpthosts.
This now means that your host will accept mail for the domain
"kfctristate.com" and deliver it to the files with this pattern
"~alias/.qmail-kfctristate-*"
2. Create the Ted Silver forward by creating a file called
".qmail-kfctristate-ted_silver" into the ~alias directory. And put the
text "&[EMAIL PROTECTED]" on a single line in that file (no quotation
marks).
3. Restart qmail.
4. For creating more "mail accounts" in the domain, add more
.qmail-kfctristate- files.
5. If you want to handle all mail to the domain, create the file
".qmail-kfctristate-default".
6. For larger domain mail handling, consider to create a mail handling
user for each domain. e.g. create user called "bigdomain" and then place
"bigdomain.com:bigdomain" into virtualdomains. Then handle the default
mail by creating ~bigdomain/.qmail-default and John Smith:s mail by
creating ~bigdomain/.qmail-john_smith.
I further recommend you to look into Dave Sill's "Life with qmail" which
is a good source of knowledge when the FAQ put you in the dark.
