compile warnings

When I compile any of the djb software on my RedHat 6.0 system
(glibc2, egcs-1.1.2), I get warnings like

instcheck.c: In function `main':
instcheck.c:103: warning: return type of `main' is not `int' 

Is there a particular reason why these warnings started to come up?
