Sorry for this followup message, but I thought it would help. I have also applied the qmail-103.patch and recompiled and installed. This made no difference. as I still received the same errors. Something however I did not mention previously was that we moved our DNS server off the same server we are running qmail on. We found BIND to be falling over due to resource issues, so we moved it onto another server. Once we had done this, the CNAME errors occurred for almost every email. On the qmail server nslookup worked fine and could resolve addresses. I have moved the DNS back onto the qmail server, as a quick solution, and qmail is happily distributing the email once again. Does anyone have an insight into what may be going on?? Many thanks again. Mark Parker
