I have a project deadline of tuesday(yeah i know its
close but the origonal deadline _was_ friday and we
didnt get the hardware till 5 pm thrus) what i need is
to create a proxy that does this:
1) Receives mail via standard smtp
2) scans for virii
3) forwards (preferably blindly) to a second
mailserver via smtp.
this machine will be the mx record for a domain and
will simply take mail and scan it and then pass it
along. it is possible to have a user list on this
machine too but id perfer not as that s extra
administration i dont need to deal with.
I've looked at amavis on other mta's and the problem
is that they forward the mail before running
scanmails. I also know there is a package for NT, but
we refuse to run NT and we're only willing to do this
under linux. As it is im looking at coding a brand new
mta by tuesday if no one can help me. If this email
wasnt clear its because ive been up since thursday
trying to figure this out/coding a new mail system....
