autorespond problem

I just installed qmail and made sure it was working with smtp.

I compiled autorespond.c per the instructions, and I am getting an error in
my maillog:

Mar 10 12:48:00 defiant qmail: 952710480.249168 delivery 18: deferral:
AUTORESPOND:_Unable_to_create_file_for_[[EMAIL PROTECTED]].

I would appreciate any help you could be.
