It sounds like the correct libraries and header files are installed, but
that the proper symlinks are not made. You should have '/usr/include/asm'
symlinked to '/usr/src/linux/include/asm', which is symlinked to the
assembler for your architecture (e.g., 'asm-i386'). You can make the
'/usr/include/asm' link directly to '/usr/src/linux/include/asm-i386' if you
really want.
