I have looked through the FAQ and checked the archives and can see an
obvious answer to this question. I am running a Redhat 6.1 system with
qmail 1.0.3 installed from the packages. I am using IMP as a web front
end for clients to send and receive email. The problem is that IMP
invokes qmail-inject (via the /var/qmail/bin/sendmail wrapper) as user
nobody (which is configured as a system account - uid 99). When sending
mail through IMP I get the following error message:
qmail-inject: fatal: read error
To verify the cause of the problem, I su'ed as nobody and tried a quick
test echo to: postmaster | /var/qmail/bin/qmail-inject with the same
result. The question is, how do I enable the nobody account to use
qmail-inject in a secure manner?
TIA for any assistance,
Cheers
