Maildir prob

how do io make sure that the messages are going to the correct place.
i keep getting errors like:

starting delivery 52: msg 869324 to local [EMAIL PROTECTED] status: 
local 4/10 remote 0/20 delivery 49: deferral:
Unable_to_chdir_to_maildir._(#4.2.1)/
status: local 3/10 remote 0/20                             

I want it send to ~/Mailbox

also, how do you tell the pop server where to look?
