Hi, I've just got back from a trade show, where I came across what seems to be a poor-man's NetApp: A RAID-5 box (4 drives) offering NFS connectivity (10/100 Ethernet) for $3000. This seems ideal for the SME wanting a NetApp style back-end. It's called a Quantum Snap Server 4000. Even for places that need a NetApp, this could be an ideal lab machine to (almost) simulate its function. the URL is, http://www.quantum.com/products/ss/snap_server/snap_server_features.htm cheers, Andrew. (Bcc'ed to a few other people who may be interested)
