Hi,

I've got a rather unique (I believe) setup of qmail here. It uses LDAP to obtain all
the user information plus I've got Amavis (http://www.amavis.org) installed to scan
for viruses in email attachments.

Recently, some weird stuff has been happening. All of a sudden, mail to certain users
gets dropped (i.e. > /dev/null). It simply vanishes. No bounce, nothing. But other
users are unaffected. To fix this situation I have to restart qmail.

The thing that bothers me is the fact that the mail simply vanishes without a trace.
At least if it bounced, I could get some sort of error message. (Plus forward the
email to the users)

I've also thought about the fact that maybe qmail is losing it's connection to LDAP,
since the LDAP server is on a different subnet. But if this was the case, wouldn't the
mail bounce?

I'm also experiencing stalled email uploads when sending large attachments. If I try
to send an email with a large attachment, it gets to about 4% and simply stops. All I
can do then is kill netscape becuase it keeps trying to upload that attachment. I've
searched the list for slow attachments and found something regarding $DATABYTES, and
setting /var/qmail/control/databytes, but these don't seem to help.

I'm stumpped here. Can anyone give me any clues?

Thanks in advance,

Daniel Ceregatti
