Newbie to qmail

Hi,   I have just install qmail + vmailmgr and courier-imap. I have followed the how-to document, and haven't had any problems here, but when I reboot my machine all qmail service report the error: "svscan is not running".   How can I fix this. I use RH 6.2   TIA,   Jeff Jensen
