Title: RE: TWO INSTANCES OF QMAIL

Grant,

why not?  i've been running multiple instances one the same machine for some time now.  each instance bound to port 25 on a separate interface.

this guy might have valid concerns, like budget or testing, to ask what he needed.

raghu,

get the source.  change the directory on the "conf-qmail" file to reflect the directory you want to install the new instance on.  all the users and groups are just fine.

add whatever patches you need. compile.

create a new script to start your new instance running on some other port or interface.  just make sure you're using the fullpath of your new qmail installation.

In my opinion you shouldn't be running two instances of qmail on the same
machine and nor should you ever change the default mail port which is 25.
