Well, yes.  I once tried to hack just pico, and gave up in
disgust.  weemacs???

OK, on your advice I will look into mutt and give it a whirl, but god
knows I have better things to do with my time than evaluate MUA's.  But
then I can't be closed minded....Thanks.
