managed to get it working with the -l -R -H flags. I probably dont need them
all, but its fine for the time being!

/usr/local/bin/tcpserver -l -p -R -H -x /etc/tcp.smtp.cdb -c "$MAXSMTPD" \
-u "$QMAILDUID" -g "$NOFILESGID" 0 smtp /var/qmail/bin/qmail-smtpd 2>&1

man tcpserver, search for ident and dns lookups.
