Hello,
I am wondering if I could use qmail when not connected to the Internet. I
know it does work, but it takes a very long time until I can connect. I
tried it with telnet on port 25 an it took several minutes until the
connection got up.
I read that the reason for this is that qmail is trying to look up it's own
hostname (and it is NOT using /etc/hosts) and therefore tries to connect to
the nameservers in /etc/resolv.conf. I also noticed the suggestion to
install DNS on the localhost, so I did it, but that didn't help neither.
Maybe I didn't manage to configure the named correctly, I don't know...
Can anyone tell me a way to get qmail running while offline?
