Oops I always do that.  LWQ does still suggest using inetd for a "a lightly-used
POP server"

I still suggest you supervise it, set your timeout to 5 minutes and see what
happens.

NOTE*   I use a virus scanner that is "using 127.0.0.1 as local pop to filter
messages" and I have no problems whatsover".
