This is wrong, and bad.  It's a construct from a pre-MX days, when
there were smtp clients that didn't support MX records.  But everybody 
does now, so there is absolutely ZERO excuse for using an address of
that form.

Still, they've told people about that address, so you ought to support 
it.  man qmail-send and search for percenthack.
