Hi all,
having a weird problem. I have a linux box
with qmail listening on some of the machine's
IP addresses. On one of the other addresses on the
machine I have the Lyris ListManager mailing list
server listening.
For testing, I have defined testsite.lyrishosting.com
with an MX record of 216.54.222.146, the Lyris
listening address, and A record of 216.54.222.147
which neither qmail or Lyris use.
I have a [EMAIL PROTECTED] mailing
list that works great. I can email it from any
external host and the mail goes through fine and
comes back fine, handled entirely by Lyris. If I
mail the list address FROM the linux box, I get an
error from qmail telling me it's the best-preference
MX or A but that the host is not defined in
control/locals. I'm not sure why qmail believes it
is the best-preference MX or A, DNS should tell it
that 216.54.222.146, which is either
testsite.lyrishosting.com or mail.lyrishosting.com
in DNS, is the ONLY MX.
