Hi,
This is my first post to this list so please go easy on me if I am
asking a faq, I just can't find the answers anywhere else!
Occasionally I need to delete large e-mails from users accounts for one
reason or another. I have been deleting the mail from
<username>/Maildir/cur/ or new/ and editing the file
<username>/Maildir/maildirsize to reflect the change. This seems to
work, however I have a feeling that I am doing something very wrong! Can
someone let me know if this is the correct way of manually deleting
mail, or point out some document that can help me.
Can someone also tell me the difference between the users cur/ and new/
directory please? I *think* that new is for new e-mails that the user
hasn't downloaded at all, and cur/ is for e-mail that they have
downloaded, but haven't deleted from the server yet - but this doesn't
always seems right for some users. Again, if this is a faq or is
answered somewhere else, just point me in the general direction.
Thanks for the help in advance!
