If you are using FreeBSD, the svscan.sh.example that comes with the
port starts svscan at boot, but also starts it at shutdown, just
before all processes get slaughtered. The fix is to make the script
look for start/stop arguments. I am too lazy to be bothered.
On any other OS/distribution: it looks like svscan is being started
again during shutdown. Find out and fix :)
