I supposed you installed vpopmail in the default path and using Maildir
with qmail:
/home/vpopmail/domains/DOMAIN_NAME/USER_ACCOUNT/Maildir/new for the
messages.
DOMAIN_NAME=name of the virtual domain
USER_ACCOUNT=self explained
To retreive messages, well you should set up the pop3 or IMAP service in
that mailbox-system.
